On 12 October 2017, at the Head Office of SAV, the Legal Affairs Department leader chaired the meeting and worked with the Audit Committee of the Deparment of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland led by Mr. James O'Brien, Senior Member of Audit Committee – Deparment of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
On 9 October 2017, a seminar on the process of creating, archiving and exploiting electronic audit records was held by Information Technology Centre (IT Centre), a service delivery unit of the SAV.
Based on the Reception – Festivity Sub-committee work plan for the 14th ASOSAI Assembly and the Decision by the Auditor General, a Taskforce is established for selecting liaison officers from SAV and summoning these public servants and employees to attend the exams to be selected as liaison officers for the Assembly. The Examination Team under Sub-Committee directed by Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung – Deputy Director General of ICD, Permanent Deputy Head of the Sub-Committee conducts examinations to select L/O for the 14th ASOSAI Assembly.
On 3 October 2017, “the Third Regional Workshop on ISSAI Financial Audit and Forensic Auditing” was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. There were 30 participants came from many SAI members of ASEANSAI, SAI Sweden and representatives from other organizations such as ADB, GIZ, INTOSAI. The Workshop was endorsed by ADB as part of the “Enhancing the role of Supreme Audit Institute in some ASEAN countries” project.
On 3 October 2017, Politburo Member, National Assembly (NA) Chairperson H.E. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan had a working session with the State Audit Office (SAV) on SAV's task implementation.
On 2 October 2017, in Hanoi, the State Audit Office of Vietnam (SAV)’s Audit Training Institute (ATI) held the opening session for the training course on 23 State Audit Standards.The Training Course was held from 02 October to 19 October 2017 with 26 participants from different SAV’s divisions and instructors wererapporteurs who had taken part in developing the Standards. This was the second part of the project to introduce all 39 new State Audit Standards to SAV’s employees and auditors. The other 13 standards had been introduced to them earlier in the year.
During 12-13 June 2017, the ASEANSAI Strategic Plan Coordination meeting was held in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was the first time such a meeting being arranged to develop ASEANSAI Work Plan 2018 – 2019 (WP) aligned with ASEANSAI Strategic Plan 2018 – 2021 (SP).
On 30th May 2017, at the headquarter of the SAV, a courtesy meeting was held between Dr. Ho Duc Phoc, the Auditor-General and Mr. Brian McEnerary, Chairman of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
One of the most important role of SAV is giving its opinions and recommendations to the National Assembly (NA) on the State Budget Settlement Report (SBSR) to assist the process of reviewing and approving it. SAV provides information and data for the NA Standing Committee and the NA Committee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs as working papers at NA meeting sessions while the Auditor General presents the audit report on SBSR as well as the 2016 Summary Report of audit findings in front of the NA.
On 23 May 2017, at SAV’s Office Dr. Doan Xuan Tien – SAV’s Deputy Auditor General had a courtesy meeting with the delegation headed by Mr. Toy Phonthilath – Director General of Personnel and Organization Department of SAI Laos within the framework of the Cooperation Plan 2016-2018 between SAI Vietnam and SAI Laos.
