The State Audit Office of Vietnam attended the 9th ACCA International Public Sector Conference with a theme ‘sustainable public sector’ in Czech Republic

(sav.gov.vn) – The SAV’s delegation headed by Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Auditor General, attended the 9th ACCA International Public Sector Conference between 28th February and 1st March, 2019 in Prague, Czech Republic.

There were about 200 delegates at this Conference, including senior auditors and accountants; representatives from many public sectors such as the Ministry of Finance in Czech, Ministry of Justice and Treasury in the United Kingdom, Ministry of Justice in Ireland, Ministry of Finance in Vietnam; the World Bank, global ACCA and leaders of many Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI).

The Conference brought up 4 issues: Innovation in the digital age, the role of SAI in promoting sustainable public sector, challenges of fraud and organized crime; finance management and implementation of international standards. In addition, leaders from SAIs discussed about the independence of SAI.

Besides, Deputy Auditor General Nguyen Tuan Anh had bilateral meetings with leaders and representatives from Czech Republic, Nepal, Pakistan and Jamaica. These meetings are stated on the Action Plan of the ASOSAI Chairman for the term 2018-2021. At the meeting with the State Audit Office of Czech Republic, the two Deputy Auditor Generals discussed about the development and implementation of the Law on State Audit, especially revising the Law on State Audit to enhance the legal status and legitimate of SAI. The meetings with SAIs Nepal, Pakistan and Jamaica promoted exchange of knowledge and experience on IT audit, environmental audit and audit of SDGs within ASOSAI and between ASOSAI and CAROSAI, AFROSAI. In addition, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Auditor General of Vietnam, on behalf of SAV, received the invitation from the Auditor General of Jamaica, CAROSAI Secretary General, to attend the 11th Congress of CAROSAI in mid June 2019, Guyana.
