The SAV as Chairman of ASOSAI for the term 2018-2021 attended the 29th OLACEFS General Assembly with an aim at strengthening the cooperation with regional working groups in the field of public audit.
The SAV’s delegates participate in OLACEFS-29
The OLACEFS General Assembly is held annually in order to make important decisions on its strategic direction and also a forum to create opportunities for member SAIs to share knowledge and experience in interested areas.
The 29th OLACEFS concentrated on 2 main themes, in which theme 1 “Application and legal validity of electronic signatures and electronic documents in the audit process” aims to rapidly push forward with the application of new technology in the audit process, and theme 2 “Improvement of institutional integrity management – relevance in SAIs and in the public sector” puts a special emphasis on improving integrity in the public sector and in interactions with the private sector. The public sector should demonstrate strong commitment to preventing corruption, especially in the cases of cooperation with the Government.
OLACEFS-29 also discussed about gender equality in the implementation of SAI's functions in OLACEFS (Goal 5- The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member States) and other issues relating to the organization’s governance and administration.
During the General Assembly, the delegation of SAV as Chairman of ASOSAI for the term of 2018- 2021 had talks with representatives of SAI El Salvador in order to promote inter-regional cooperation between ASOSAI and OLACEFS and bilateral meeting with SAI Cuba with an aim at further strengthening the traditional friendly relations between the two SAIs.
