Regular meeting to review preparation for the 14th ASOSAI Assembly

On 9 November 2017 in Hanoi, Auditor General Ho Duc Phoc chaired a meeting to discuss the organization of 14th ASOSAI Assembly. The meeting received attendance from all Deputy Auditors General and relevant Heads of Departments of SAI Vietnam.

At the meeting, Ms. Ha Thi My Dzung, Director General of International Cooperation presented a report on progress of preparatory tasks for SAV’s hosting the 14th ASOSAI Assembly. She informed the meeting participants that the Auditor General cum Chairman of SAV’s Organizing Board had approved list of participants,  interpreters and Masters of Ceremony (MC) of the Assembly, and that he had endorsed plans on public media communication of and training for the event.

Sub-committees under the Organising Board also reported about their discharging tasks and duties at the meeting. Accordingly, Program Development and Secretary Sub-Committee had finalized the draft “Training Material on ASOSAI and ASOSAI Assembly” and proposed the Auditor General to invite current ASOSAI Chairman and General Secretary to visit and work with SAV on the preparation for the Assembly.

Meanwhile, Finance and Logistics Sub-Committee reported that it had successfully organized field-test trips to locations intended for hosting the Assembly at the National Convention Center and several tourist sites for social programs and excursion. The Sub-committee also finalized draft Regulations on the procedures of budget estimate and settlement regarding the Assembly organization. The document has been disseminated to related agencies for comments.

In the same time, Protocol and Festivals Sub-Committee reported that it had joined hands with Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in organizing test-based examinations on selecting Liaison Officers (LO) for the Assembly. Besides, the Sub-committee proposed a plan on summarising and studying lessons on hosting ASOSAI assemblies from other SAIs. It was while Information and Communication Sub-Committee was assigned to complete the design of the Assembly’s Corporation Identify Program (CIP) as directed by the Auditor General at the previous meeting of this kind.

At the meeting conclusion, Phoc again emphasized the high importance of hosting the 14th ASOSAI Assembly in Vietnam. Therefore it is essential to assure throughout carefulness and thoughtfulness in preparation stage. He requested all supporting Sub-committees to work positively towards a successful Assembly in Vietnam in 2018.
