Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Auditor General at the talk

Mr. Hussam Abdulmohsen Alangari shared, "At the end of 2020, we successfully organized the 14th General Assembly of the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI). Following the Assembly, all participants expressed a great deal of appreciation for our capabilities. The 14th ARABOSAI General Assembly is believed to be a miniature of the International Organizations of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Congress."

Concerning the 17th ASOSAI Assembly, GCA highly appreciates SAV's great support and considers this as a valuable opportunity for the two sides to strengthen cooperation.

The President of GCA expressed his commitment to successfully hosting and organizing the 17th ASOSAI Assembly, and therefore asked SAV to support SAI Saudi Arabia in its application for the host of the Assembly. He believed that the vote of SAV would enable GCA to realize its goal.

Responding to the desire of GCA, Mr. Ngo Van Tuan, Auditor General expressed his pleasure to come face to face with the President of GCA once again since the 13th Debt Management Conference held by UNCTAD in December 2022.

He highly appreciated the traditional and long-standing bilateral cooperation between SAV and GCA, and expressed his support to the desire of GCA to become the host of the 17th ASOSAI Assembly.

Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan pledged, "We will support GCA to become the host of the 17th ASOSAI Assembly. This is not only my personal decision but also the decision of our institution after discussing and carefully analyzing advantages when GCA becomes the host of the 17th ASOSAI Assembly". It is Mr. Ngo Van Tuan's belief that GCA would also receive support from other SAIs in hosting the Assembly.

Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan added that SAV highly values the active contributions of GCA. After almost 100 years of development, SAI Saudi Arabia has made significant contributions within both bilateral and multilateral framework with its rich experience in organizing important events of INTOSAI and ASOSAI.

GCA has actively supported SAV over the past time in both multilateral and bilateral framework, such as supporting SAV in procuring 54 High-configuration computers to organize the first virtual audit of the Office during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Hussam Abdulmohsen Alangari, President of GCA

Regarding direction for future cooperation, Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan hoped that the two SAIs would continue to support each other in bilateral and multilateral framework with specific actions such as exchanging of high-level delegations, experience-sharing activities at technical level on financial statement audit, environmental audit, IT audit and information technology application in audit activities, particularly on auditing the implementation of sustainable development goals towards achieving the United Nations' millennium goals.

Mr. Hussam Abdulmohsen Alangari, President of GCA emphasized, "I strongly believe that the support of SAV will help us fulfill our wish of becoming the host of the 17th ASOSAI Assembly in 2027. We also commit ourselves to continuing our support for SAV in the future"./.
