Indian experts delivered training in Vietnam

On 26 September 2017, a training on environmental auditing was opened in Hanoi for Vietnamese auditors. The course was delivered by two enviromental auditing experts from SAI India Ms. Nameeta Prasad and Mr. Kartikaye Mathur. The two experts shared with the attendants their knowledges and professional experience in the field of environmental auditing. 

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa, Deputy Director General of SAV’s Audit Training Institute (ATI) stressed that protecting environment had a tremendous role for the survial and development of current and future society. Environment protection at a larger scale requires much attention from responsible agencies of which SAV is one of the key players. There are two fundamental reasons to conduct an environmental audit: (i) to strengthen capacity of management agencies, and (ii) to raise awarenesses and consequent activities toward environment protection within leaders and employees at the auditee in order that it could help promote substainable development and protect environment under the “cleaner production” approach.

It was a three-day program that took place during 26 to 28 September 2017 during which Vietnamese trainees were provided with knowledge and actual facts regarding environment and environemtal auditing. The topics included environemtal issues and climate change, introduction to performance auditing,  Government’s responses toward climate change, mitigation and adaptation, mitigation and adaptation plan toward climate change in Vietnam, audits of issues relating waste management, India’s experience, design an audit on mitigation and adaptation planning, i.e. choosing audit objectives and audit questionaries, designing an audit on adaptation to climate change, identifying audit criteria’s sources, designing an audit on mitigation to climate change, etc.
