ASEANSAI Strategic Plan 2018 – 2021 is drafted

Member SAIs of the Strategic Plan Committee are in the process to prepare a new plan for ASEANSAI for 2018-2021. The plan tends to set out strategic direction for the development of the organisation for the next three years. It will also define goals and objectives that help ASEANSAI achieve its vision and mission in the longer run. The process was initiated at the 7th SPC meeting during 28th June – 1st July 2016 where an agreement on the plan outline containing directions, framework and Action Plan, etc. was reached by SPC member SAIs.

The subsequent gathering for the task was held in Bali, Indonesia during 16th – 18th February 2017 which was chaired by SAV as the Committee chairman. The 8th SPC meeting focused its discussions on the first Draft SP 2018 – 2021 compiled by SAV relying on input reports contributed by SPC members. The draft came out as the result of SWOT analysis, measuring against INTOSAI/EUROSAI/ASOSAI benmarks, ISSAI 12 review, etc. According to the agreed Action Plan, the final draft will be completed by Mid-June and submitted to the ASEANSAI SOM in Cambodia for final review in August 2017. It is expected to be officially approved for endorsement at ASEANSAI Assembly in Laos in November this year.

The Monitoring and Evaluation System will be revised as a tool to oversee and a Workplan be developed to ensure for an effective implementation of the new Strategic Plan by all ASEANSAI members.
